He was not very taken with the Land Agent's House and he then bought Rossferry, just beside Geaglum Pier. He served with the Coldstream Guards during WW1 and was awarded the DSO (unusual for a subaltern - I have the citation). At some stage - 1920's ? - he then bought the neighbouring St Huberts - not sure whether house and land or just land.<br /><br />I was born at Rossferry in 1944 and christened in Crom Church, now living in Killinchy, Co Down.
