My distant Irish ancestry is still a bit vague but apparently my great great grandfather, John Burke, was a younger son of the Burke household at Marble Hill born around 1810.I believe that the famous Thomas Burke, victim of the Pheonix Park murders was a cousin, (though he would seem to be connected to the Glinsk side of the family).<br />Obviously I would be interested to find out more if anybody is able to.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11055580181332877312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2705771450596300887.post-40528663796035863832013-11-05T00:29:36.233+00:002013-11-05T00:29:36.233+00:00On a visit to Ireland from Australia we came acros...On a visit to Ireland from Australia we came across marble hill by accident when I noticed the 'For Sale' sign. We ventured in for a look and were greatly surprised. Not being descended from the Burke family but from the Crosdale or Croasdaile family, the Burke name comes up a lot as friends of the family. My g great grandfather was born in Woodford in 1815. I don't know if you have any info on this line or the Croasdalie mansion that used to be on the road out of town from woodford. thanks for the story on Marble Hill, it's great.LyndelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2705771450596300887.post-28805060806249244792013-01-30T22:27:57.453+00:002013-01-30T22:27:57.453+00:00I have just come across this article, it is amazin...I have just come across this article, it is amazing to read.
