Airline Surcharge

As if readers weren't already aware, the airline Flybe charges passengers a "Transaction Fee" of £9 for the privilege of using one's debit card. I choose to describe it as a surcharge.

  1. Yes it's disgraceful how they and some other airlines are allowed to advertise their fares, without including all the additional charges up front. See now how an apparently "free" flight can cost you a minimum of £69!

  4. There was talk that this transaction fee may soon be outlawed (I think).

    My own view is that domestic flights are still too inexpensive; people should be discouraged from flying within the UK.
