The Auld Kitchen
I am presently in The Auld Kitchen bar at the Manor House, Rathlni Island. It is quite fine and sunny intervals.
My dear Timothy. Is Mr Damian McFaul still the manager at that establishment? If so, is all forgiven for his treatment of the Wessex's, during their visit of June 2010?
yes, Sir John Norris and a young officer named Francis Drake put the inhabitants to the sword for less in the 16th century. Fate exacted retribution of course with the sinking of HMS 'Drake' in 1917 - see www.rathlinislandbooks.com
Kenneth, the same people run the Manor House as in 2010.
All is not forgotten or even forgiven, as far as I'm concerned.
The National Trust owns the Manor House and leases it to the present people.
The lease might be due for renewal shortly and I suggest that those who have any views or concerns get in touch with the new Regional Director of the Trust at Rowallane.
