Garden Front, facing Strangford Lough (Timothy Ferres, 2013) |
The house lies between the village of Strangford, County Down, to the north, and Cloghy Rocks to the south.
South Elevation (Timothy Ferres, 2013) |
This historic house has, to my mind, considerable potential as holiday apartments, a guest-house or even a private home.
East Elevation (Timothy Ferres, 2013) |
There are old outbuildings, including terraced cottages, to the west and north of the house.

Was there a local land-owner that you asked for permission, or did you just hop over a fence?
ReplyDeleteInteresting property
Hello Anon,
ReplyDeleteThere was no sign of life at all; not even a cow, sheep or pig.
I don't know who owns the property.
Tim
I hopped through a window to have a wee look about and it would need a huge amount of money to get it into any sorta shape for appartments, holiday home or anything else,it's literally a ruin.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that it has been neglected for so many decades. I recall a vagrant man known as Nicky who spent nights there occasionally in the 1980s.
ReplyDeleteIn 1913 Mr. D. McCausland sold his farm at Ballydock and bought Isle O'Valla, with 60 acres of good land, from Baroness de Ros.
