Unfortunately I have so far been unable to find any history or images of Shaen Manor or Lodge.
The principal residence of the Carters for several generations was Castlemartin in County Kildare.

ReplyDeleteI just found Shaen Manor - rather, the former site of it - on this page (http://landedestates.nuigalway.ie/LandedEstates/jsp/estate-show.jsp?id=342).
It includes the GPS coordinates 54.2133° N, 9.9838° W, which show the school now in its place. I cannot validate that data, of course, but it's the only reference I've yet found.
I was at Ottershaw School with one Richard Shaen-Carter... in the cold winter of 1962-3 we ran an early-morning cross-country... the last time I saw him was after leaving school, when he was living near Woking, where I recall also briefly meeting his father.
