Bloomfield of Castle Caldwell

 THE BLOOMFIELDS OWNED 4,899 ACRES IN COUNTY FERMANAGH


BENJAMIN BLOOMFIELD, or BLUMFIELD, of Eyre Court, County Galway, made his will on the 17th July, 1737, which was proved in January, 1738.

By Dorothy his wife he left four sons and two daughters,
JOHN, of whom hereafter;
Joseph, born 1711;
Benjamin, of Meelick, Co Galway; grandfather of 1st BARON BLOOMFIELD;
Richard;
Dorothy; Anne.
His eldest son,

JOHN BLOOMFIELD, of Redwood, County Tipperary, High Sheriff of County Tipperary, 1753, married, in 1742, Jane, daughter of Thomas Jocelyn, and had issue,
JOHN, his heir;
George;
Jocelyn;
Robert;
Dorothea; Jane; Frances.
The eldest son,

JOHN BLOOMFIELD, of Redwood, wedded Jane, daughter of Admiral Sir John Colpoys GCB, and had issue,
JOHN COLPOYS, his heir;
Dorothea.
His son and heir,

JOHN COLPOYS BLOOMFIELD (1788-1880), of Redwood, and Castle Caldwell, County Fermanagh, High Sheriff of County Fermanagh, 1825, espoused, in 1817, Frances Arabella, daughter and co-heir of Sir John Caldwell, 5th Baronet, of Castle Caldwell, County Fermanagh, and had issue,
JOHN CALDWELL, his heir;
FitzMaurice Gustavus;
Godfrey Colpoys;
Alleyne FitzHerbert Fenton;
Mary Anne; Frances.
His eldest son,

JOHN CALDWELL BLOOMFIELD JP DL (1823-97), of Castle Caldwell, High Sheriff of County Fermanagh, 1874, married firstly, in 1846, Elizabeth, elder daughter of William D'Arcy Irvine, of Necarne Castle, Irvinestown, County Fermanagh, and had issue,
BANJAMIN FRANCIS MEYNELL his heir,
BLANCHE, of whom presently.
He wedded secondly, in 1875, his cousin Adelaide Hannah Frances, daughter of Sir Josiah William Hort, 2nd Baronet, without further issue.

Mr Bloomfield's only son,

BENJAMIN FRANCIS MEYNELL BLOOMFIELD JP DL (1850-86), of Castle Caldwell, Captain, Fermanagh Militia, espoused, in 1875, Lydia Frances (died 1900), third daughter of Sir William Henry Marsham Style, 9th Baronet, of Glenmore, County Donegal, and had issue,
MEYNELL CALDWELL EGERTON RODNEY, his heir;
Marian Blanche Selina Elizabeth (1876-1906), m 1903, Rev B T du Boe;
Grace Maria Louisa (1877-1968), m 1898, Arthur Francis Forster, of Maidstone, Kent.
John Caldwell Bloomfield died in 1897, and was succeeded by his grandson,

MEYNELL CALDWELL EGERTON RODNEY BLOOMFIELD (1882-1961), who succeeded his grandfather in 1897; he married without issue.

John Caldwell Bloomfield's only daughter,

BLANCHE CALDWELL (1856-1920), wedded, in 1879, the Right Rev Charles Thornton Primrose Grierson, and had issue, an only child,

ULALENI BLANCHE GRIERSON (1880-1949), of Belfast, who espoused, in 1914, Henry Kinahan.
