Kactus Tapas Bar

The Internet connection at Belmont GHQ remains broken, so I'm using the wifi connection at the Kactus cafe, a favoured haunt of mine.

London gin and Nordic tonic water is in front of me, and I've become re-acquainted with my old pals from the bar. They greet me like an old chum.

I am minded to order the trozas de solomillo con conac, tortilla espanola con chorizo y queso etc.

El Cantante

The old fodder has just been consumed, viz. chicken, French fries and salad.

I'm now indulging in another Bacardi and coke at El Cantante, which overlooks the sea and the isle of Los Lobos.

I spent several hours at the lovely beach this afternoon.

The wifi connection at my apartment is presently hit-and-miss; hence the limited missives.

Gordon. Really?

I am uncertain as to whether Mr Gordon Ramsay would be amused re Gordon Ransay's logo.

La Taberna

I enjoyed a superb dinner at my good pal Juan's restaurant, La Taberna, this evening.

I devoured a splendid fillet of beef with Roquefort sauce, sauté potatoes and homemade coleslaw.

Juan has a tried and tested formula, which has proved to be very successful; particularly since his little restaurant is one of the longest established in the resort.

Juan is mine host and his good lady Ana cooks in the kitchen.

I confidently expect that I will be at this favoured haunt on a regular basis.

Corralejo: I

My intention had been to dine at La Taberna last night though, in the event, decided to postpone the repast until this evening.

However, I did pay Juan and Ana a call and present them with a little gift from the city of Belfast. Juan is mine host and restaurateur with his wife Ana at La Taberna.

I've changed the old drinking habits lately, viz. the consumption of Bacardi rum and cola in lieu of my usual tipple, London gin.

Actually, Bacardi holds a royal warrant.

I spent time yesterday ambling round the town, revisiting several old haunts and saying Hallo to a few familiar faces.

The Temple restaurant has closed down. It was owned and run by a Belfast man called John.  I was informed that John and his partner have moved to The Gambia.

There's an Irish food festival at Terminal Two in Dublin Airport.
