I was reading a most disturbing, yet rivetting, story last night about the German industrialist, Thomas Niedermayer, who was abducted and murdered by the IRA; his body buried in a shallow grave at Collin Glen, on the outskirts of Belfast; and builders subsequently encouraged by the terrorists to use the burial site as a dumping ground in order that poor Mr Niedermayer's remains might never be located again.
I urge you to read the article. You'll find it macabre, yet admirable in the ingenious manner in which the mystery was brought to a successful conclusion by detectives of the most illustrious Royal Ulster Constabulary GC, including Alan Simpson, and HM Forces.
To the esteemed Memory of the Royal Ulster Constabulary, George Cross; and its gallant men and women, fallen and still with us.

Thanks for the link.
Brave people indeed.
Isn't it a remarkable story? Poignant at its conclusion. It makes me think about those brave RUC detectives and officers who protected us; and the Army, too.
