Mobile Saga

The saga continues regarding my old mobile phone. My provider tells me that it still has over £15 of credit on it, so it must by lying unused somewhere.

No matter. I have contacted the airport again. My provider is sending me a new SIM card and thereafter the balance will be transferred.

How does one back up names, contacts and data? Apparently I must start from scratch with the new phone. Unless, of course, my old phone turns up...

Sir, I would say that you are probably right and without the old phone the numbers are lost. Did you however ever sync your old phone with your laptop? If so they may be saved on the address book. You are in good company. I lost my phone last week abroad. It was all a bit fraught trying to get the sim cancelled and the phone wiped remotely- lest one of the local chaps decided that he would benefit from my stupidity of leaving it behind in the hotel room. I find it fascinating just how these new smart phones become so tied up in every facet of our daily lives - I felt like i had lost and arm or a leg - there is a chance i might get it back - but to say i have felt a separation anxiety would be overstating how i feel about the whole affair. Trust your old phone turns up - still a lot of good people out there.

I rather like the new one! The touch screen emits gimmicky little musical noises depending on which button you press!
