Passing Grand Parade petrol station today, on my way to the gym, I observed that the price of unleaded petrol has risen from 99.9 to 101.9 pence per litre. Drat!
Is this still currently the cheapest petrol in east Belfast?

It's the cheapest petrol anywhere that I know of. I used to know people who ran some petrol stations in the country, and they told me that the profit on petrol per litre is usually of the order of 1p or 2p at the very most (most filling stations make their money on the sales in the shops).
If this is true, then I cannot fathom how Grand Parade filling station can be selling petrol consistently at 4p less than Tesco and Sainsburys (with their purchase power and economies of scale) and still make a profit from it.
I hope it's all from the same refinery!
