Princely Carpet Sum

I received my first quotation for the hall carpet today and it's a frightful amount: well into four figures. I'd absolutely no idea and thought it may have been half that sum. The quotation includes carpet, under-felt and fitting. I'm awaiting one more estimate and I might obtain a third.

I imagine, if one is being philosophical, it will last for several decades.
