Brackenber Dinner 2012

Today is a Brackenber Day. The annual bash takes place at the Ulster Reform Club.

Merely to whet the old culinary taste-buds, here is a reminder of the menu at the Penthouse of the Belfast Europa Hotel, in 2012:-

do you know the origin of the name 'Brackenber' ? I cannot suggest anything.

I don't know, yet, how it got the name. Perhaps Mr Sewell chose it because it reminded him of some place by that name elsewhere.

i have just googled it - Brackenber is a small hamlet in Cumbria. You may well be right : he could have had happy memories of Brackenber. You should pay a visit - sounds in very nice Lake District area.
