Hello,
My mother who was then Emma Irwin worked for Lady Hayes at the castle probably as a ladies maid in the 1930s prior to getting married. I still have the ornamental small jug that Lady Hayes gave her as a gift. Mother lived till 98 years of age and fondly remembered Lady Hayes.
