Yellow Door Lunch

I lunched with a friend at the Yellow Door deli on the Lisburn Road, Belfast, today. It's the first time I've been to the Yellow Door, though they have catered at Castleward Opera in previous years, I think.

I parked at Cadogan Park and we strolled to the Yellow Door from there. I had the chicken and bacon Ciabbata sandwich with salad and Parmesan cheese.

I enjoyed it and the Yellow Door is a pleasant little place.

It has been suggested that I expand my County Landowner and Country House series to include the Irish Republic, so I'd be eager to receive feedback from readers about that proposal, please. This would entail a considerable undertaking, given that there are potentially 260 articles, at ten per county.

What are your thoughts on my expanding the series to the RoI?

My vote would be for you to keep it local (NI).
Always enjoy your observations of Ulster people at work and play. How about doing some more Belfast walks and coffee shop visits.

Yellow Door is indeed rather good.Lord Belmont, as a non- catholic who does enjoy your blog I am most disappointed that you made no reference to Pope Benedict's state visit to the U.K. I know how interested you are in Royal/State affairs. You have enlightened me on many occasions!I was so pleased to hear Pope Benedict's gracious comments about the 70th anniversary of the battle of Britian.

Perhaps you missed my entry in March re the Papal Visit?

It got a mention, Joan! Glad you're enjoying the blog though.

Why don't you start with the other counties of Ulster, and see where that takes you? Personally, I'd be interested to hear more about Monaghan and Donegal.

I also think you should firstly extend to the 9 Ulster counties and then see if you want to extend further. BTW - really enjoy your blog.

Northing against the south mind,it's just that i can't get fired up the same about the houses and people, also, there's so much more to cover in Ulster like Francis Turnley in Carnlough i asked about for example.Exaust the North then move on.

Many thanks for all the comments. Duly noted!

Sorry exhaust that should have read.

One loses the 'personal touch' by going out too far.

I'll carry on with Business As Usual; at least until I exhaust everything else.

I should appreciate suggestions or proposals for future, appropriate series, though!

Lord Belmont,
Sincere apologies to you. I looked back to March and did indeed find your comment re. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's invitation to His Holiness Pope Benedict to make a State Visit.I stand corrected!
Thought it was a wonderful occasion.
Kind Regards,
Joan
