I have just watched Prince Charles paying a wonderful and personal tribute to his mother, Her Majesty The Queen, on the stage of the Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace.
Such a heartfelt, straightforward homage to a very special person, whom we all hold in the highest esteem.
The Prince of Wales also paid tribute to his father, The Duke of Edinburgh, whom I hope has been able to view the spectacle from his bed in hospital. I wish Prince Philip a speedy recovery.
Our Armed Forces were not forgotten, either: Prince Charles especially mentioned those on active service abroad.
Beacons have been lit throughout the United Kingdom in order to celebrate The Queen's diamond Jubilee, including one at Northern Ireland's highest peak, Slieve Donard.
