The European Union will attempt to ban us selling eggs by the dozen or even half-dozen. Are they being serious? I noticed the article in the Telegraph, which I now read online instead of the Sunday Times (I ought to have begun years ago).
If I had any say in the matter I'd tell them to go and boil their heads, not their eggs. Who do they think they are, dictating what we must and must not do?
Utterly outrageous.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this story turned out to be without foundation. Just two days later, the Telegraph confirmed as much - without, of course, admitting that among the "reports suggesting" there was to be a ban was one from the Telegraph itself!
My advice is that when reading of something which sounds ridiculous, check out the facts, particularly if it comes from a partisan source. It is usually untrue (see all the other old saws, like 'Winterval', 'banning Baa Baa Black Sheep' etc).
The EU is virtually bankrupting us and a liability to the British taxpayer: Health and Safety laws, including those ghastly road humps which nobody wants - the folly of the roads "service" spending millions of pounds on it when they ought to be repairing our roads instead.
I could go on ad nauseum!
